Hen Peck Meeting
Tonight I was at a SAC meeting. Student Advisory Council Meeting.
Now I know why Hen Pecking is a well used term by men when it comes to putting Mothers together in a group.
I don't like this, I don,t want that, I think this, I disagree with that. A lot of clucking ado about nothing. We discussed head lice for an hour. The school has been collecting stuffed animals for the children affected by the hurricane Katrina. Some of the parents wanted the program shut down because the school has a few cases of head lice. Letter has been sent out as a heads -up notice, as a result it has caused a massive paranoia.
Personally at least they we're informed. As most public play places, swimming pools, parks, dance classes, etc. don't send out news letter about it. Children can easily get in other places besides a school. I feel the moral value placed on sending children in the U.S.A a teddy that have lost everything far more important than a possible case of head lice.
We have never had head lice in this house, but I'm sure if we got it we would survive, it's not like we have been hit by a hurricane.
Other hot topics the milk program. They have wasted alot of good milk over the years from waste. Let it go than. You can send your child milk in their lunch with an ice pack, freeze it over night or a thermos. Though much debate had to take place.
I think the worst part about it all was the snappy remarks made across the room from one parent to another. The air thick with conflict over the smallest things like a little bug and a carton of milk.
Thats today folks.

Crystal, have you ever seen The Music Man? (one of my favourites) - After reading your post,I now have one of the numbers running through my head.
(If you haven't seen it - The singers are a group of ladies engaged in the town gossip - their heads bobbing together like chickens pecking for corn)
Pick a little, talk a little
Pick a little, talk a little
Pick pick pick!
Pick a lot, pick a little more
Pick a little, talk a little
Pick a little, talk a little
Pick pick pick!
Pick a lot, pick a little more
Pick a little, talk a little
Pick a little, talk a little
Pick pick pick!
Pick a lot, pick a little more
Pick a little, talk a little
Pick a little, talk a little
Pick pick pick pick pick pick pick pick....

No Pat, Although I would love to see The Music Man. It may provide me with a much needed sence of humor for situations such as this.
I would love to sing and perform that number for the next SAC meeting, I think it would be quite enlightening.

Crystal, you are too funny. I'd love to hear you sing that at a SAC meeting any day of the week.
