The Weedle on the Needle
Recently I found a children's book about Seattle and the Space Needle. So my question for you today, is what is on top of the space needle and how did it get there?

Well Crystal, now you have my attention. I went onto the internet to see if I could find the answer...but I only have a few guesses and I don't think I am right. BUT now I want to go there so Patrick will just have to take me!
My guesses are: the revolving restuarant; tethered balloon, 85 million candle power light (something like that).
So what is the answer? When is your hubby available and we will all go together :)

"There's a Wheedle
On the Needle I know just what
You're Thinking
But if you look up
Late at night
You'll see
His red nose blinking"
Believe it, or not. The book states that a big fat creature with a blinking red nose, and giant multicolored ear muffs lives on the stop of the needle.
That is why you see the red light blinking.
If you wish to read this book it is," A Serendipity Book," for children indeed called, "Wheedle on the Needle."
So there you have it Arlene.

I loved that book as a child, and when we visited the space needle my parents purchased a stuffed Weedle for me. I immediately fell absolutely in love with the little guy, then crushed my little spirit by promptly losing him somewhere in Seattle. My sweet grandmother drove five hours to Seattle to buy me a new one a week later. I love my grandma.
My brother and I have since always called the big red (or orange) balls that hang on power lines that cross the freeway so planes don't get tangled in them "Weedle Noses."
