Shoes and Fighting Crime

My mother tried to raise me to be conscious of my foot wear. As what you wear on your feet tells alot about what kind of person you are she would say. Therefore she would often check to see if my shoes where appropriate before I stepped out the door. Sorry to say, still to this day shoes have not been a big concern for me. I believe in comfort and warmth not style, shape or other wise. I have running shoes, winter boots and sandal's all of which are old and worn.
My mother was correct is that statement though. As with palm reading I learned that shoes do indeed speak of the individual personality and over the years I have also come to the understanding that your ability to be a good criminal witness is based alot on your shoe ethics.
To be good witness to a crime you need to be a detailed observer, thus the attention you give to your foot wear speaks volumes in your observant behavior.
Running shoes are a common form of foot wear. Comfortable, easy to put on, and an ability to move quickly, are all a part of their purpose. The older and more worn; the more comfortable. Though the running-shoe person is not a good crime witness, as these individuals are often to busy with other things to pick out the finer details of an individual's clothing, hair color, or height for the police line-up. Though they may be more in tune to the mood of the suspect if they seen him before or after the crime took place. Was he grumpy looking, serious face, or fearful? Running-shoe folks tune into emotional expression with little concern for physical details.
The polished Oxford, or leather shoe are shoes for the business or professional individual - clean crisp and comfortable. They are strong long lasting quality shoes. These are the people that pay attention to details but are limited in observation of those around them. The task at hand shall be dealt with, no time for people-watching. They will notice manner in the suspect, and gestures, more so than physical details. Did the suspect move quickly, was he heavy footed, did he drive a car, or walk?
The detailed shoe folk, wear shoes that match or accent their appearance.
A sleek boot for jeans, a flat heel for shorts, a strong wedge for style. This shoe person, has lots of shoes, wears different shoes, and looks at other peoples shoes. This is a great witness for physical descriptions. They love style and color, and they check out what others are wearing. They can remember color shades, height and physical details.

So the next time you witness a crime, or need a good witness, look for the shoe clues in the area......They can help point out suspects in a police line up.

Believe it or not..... And what shoes do you wear?
